In the mid 13th Century,The Wars of the Roses was an English Civil war between the House of Lancaster and the House of York, so known due to the emblems of the two noble houses involved - the red rose of Lancaster, and the white rose of York.
Today, the war continues, every May, albeit in the form of a number of sporting events between the Universities of York and Lancaster. In recognition to those proud of their Northern roots as we in Manchester do, we present to you Manchester Red Ale.
Manchester Red is amber in colour with toffee and subtle sweet flavours, a silky smooth taste with a lingering dry bitter finish.
